Ada CX pricing: What does it cost in 2026?

Ada does not list standard prices on its website. A previously published Ada AWS Marketplace offer listed $33,000 for 12 months with 60,000 conversations. That price applied to one specific offer. Your quote may differ.
Your price will depend on how many conversations Ada handles and what the contract includes. A voice agent that takes account actions will need a different scope from a web chat agent that answers help-center questions.
What are you buying from Ada?
Ada builds AI agents for customer service across messaging, email, and voice. The agent can answer from support content, use connected systems to take an action, or pass a customer to a person. Ada also provides reports to help a team see what the agent handled.
An order-status request shows what matters: the agent needs access to the right order record. If a package is lost, it may need to hand the case to a person.
Ada describes these kinds of capabilities, but its public features page does not say which ones come with a given price. The proposed order-status workflow, data access, and handoff all need to appear in the scope.
What does Ada publish about pricing?
| Item | Published term and what to check |
|---|---|
| Starting price | Ada does not publish a standard rate card. Request a quote showing the included conversation volume, channels, setup costs, and overage rate. |
| Billing model | Ada says most customers choose conversation-based pricing; some enterprises can use resolution-based pricing. Confirm the model and included quantity. |
| Extra usage | Ada's terms bill conversations above the contracted limit at then-current rates. Get the numeric overage rate and alert threshold. |
| Payment | Direct Ada invoices are annual and upfront by default unless the order form differs. Marketplace payment terms can differ. Check services and provider charges too. |
| Renewal | Ada's standard terms state a 10% increase for the same services. They also renew the contract for one year unless either party gives at least 30 days' notice. Your order form can override both terms. |
At full use, that offer worked out to $0.55 per included conversation. Using fewer than 60,000 would raise the effective cost per conversation. The calculation does not tell you Ada's current price or overage rate.
What counts as an Ada conversation?
Ada's customer terms define a messaging conversation as unlimited messages between its agent and one customer in one channel during a 24-hour period. It starts when the customer sends a message.
It ends when the customer exits the chat or after 24 hours of inactivity following the agent's last message.
Say a customer sends six messages in a web chat about a missing order, then exits. Those six messages can fall within one conversation. If the same customer writes again later or switches channels, the count may change.
To estimate usage, count customer contacts using Ada's rules rather than relying on last month's website visitors or ticket total.
Email and voice have different rules
Ada's service-specific terms define an email conversation as a thread between the agent and one customer. After 72 hours of inactivity, a new email begins a new conversation.
A voice conversation is a connected call that starts when the customer begins speaking and ends when the call disconnects.
Start with a month of actual support contacts, split by channel. Include customers who contacted you more than once.
How does Ada billing work?
Conversation-based pricing
Under this model, you pay for the conversations the AI agent handles, including those that do not end in an automated resolution. Ada says most customers choose this model.
Its standard terms bill usage beyond the quantity in the order form at then-current rates. A retailer with seasonal peaks will need the numeric overage rate in its contract.
For proactive campaigns, Ada's terms say a conversation initiated by the business is charged only if the customer responds.
Automated resolution billing
Ada also describes billing for purchased automated resolutions in its service-specific terms. Under that definition, the conversation must not be escalated and the response must meet Ada's criteria for relevance, accuracy, and safety.
Purchased resolutions are invoiced upfront, with a rate calculated from a sample of conversations.
If the same customer comes back the next day, would the first contact still count as resolved? That is the sort of case to walk through with Ada when discussing this model.
Ada's article comparing billing models uses $0.35 per conversation and $1.50 per resolution as examples. Neither is a published purchase rate.
What could Ada cost at your volume?
5,000 website visitors a month
If 5,000 people visit your site, how many actually ask for help? Of those who do, how many will speak to Ada? Without those numbers, a visitor count says little about the bill.
5,000 AI conversations a month
That comes to 60,000 conversations a year, the allowance shown in the AWS offer. It is a useful price reference at this volume. It does not show what a current quote would include for your channels and setup.
100,000 chats a month
That is 1.2 million chats a year in your current reporting. It might not be 1.2 million Ada conversations, because the counting rules may differ. Use a sample to translate your chat volume into Ada's units, then get a quote that covers peak months.
Multiplying the AWS price by 20 would assume the same offer scales at the same rate. Nothing in that listing says it does.
For the first-year budget, add the annual contract, any paid rollout services, likely overages, and provider charges for channels such as voice. Ada's illustrative blog rates do not belong in that calculation.
What else changes the first-year cost?
Workflows and integrations
Answering from a help article takes different setup than checking an order, changing account details, or handing a case to the right team. Ada documents actions and handoffs with external systems, including Zendesk.
A useful quote names each workflow and who will build and test it. A listed integration alone does not establish that your intended action is included.
Channels and languages
A web chat rollout has a different scope from a launch across chat, email, voice, and SMS. Ada's service-specific terms describe provider responsibilities and fair-use limits for voice and SMS. The proposal needs to identify provider charges and channel limits.
Ada lists language support by channel. A May 2026 update said voice supported 42 of Ada's 60 supported languages. A team serving ten languages should check its exact ten against messaging, email, and voice separately.
Your team's rollout work
The invoice also leaves out some work your own team will do. Someone has to clean up outdated help articles, decide which actions the agent may take, test edge cases, and review mistakes after launch.
Add that staff time to your first-year cost estimate.
How can you tell whether Ada pays off?
Track the issues Ada resolves without human help, then check whether those customers return about the same problem. Review a sample of conversations marked resolved alongside human handoffs, repeat contacts, and customer feedback.
Ada's performance reports classify conversations as resolved or not resolved, while its service-specific terms define automated resolutions for billing. Those measures need to be reconciled when you review a quote.
Divide first-year Ada and provider costs by the number of issues the agent actually resolved without human help. Compare the result with what your team spends handling those same issues now, including the staff time needed to run the agent.
Check the figures by issue type: a strong result on order tracking can hide poor results on billing disputes.
What should you send Ada for a usable quote?
Imagine a retailer with 200 support agents, 100,000 monthly chats, a seasonal spike, Zendesk for tickets, Shopify for orders, and customers who need help in ten languages. "Price Ada for 200 seats" would miss most of the work. A useful brief would cover:
1. Monthly contact volume by channel, expected AI conversations, and peak months.
2. The channels and languages required at launch and later.
3. The exact questions, actions, and human handoffs you want to test.
4. Your Zendesk, Shopify, or other system requirements at the workflow level.
5. Who will prepare content, configure workflows, test results, and train staff.
6. How many staff need platform access, plus your onboarding, support, and SLA needs.
The retailer would need to know whether Ada can look up an order, what happens when a shopper requests an exception, whether Zendesk gets the full handoff context, and which ten languages work in each channel.
The written proposal should show included volume, overage rate, channel scope, rollout ownership, support terms, and renewal price. Ada's order form takes priority where it differs from the standard terms.
Is Ada worth considering?
Ada is worth evaluating when support spans several channels, and the agent must complete tasks through connected systems. In a demo, use actual cases from your queue: an order question the agent should resolve, a request that needs an approved action, and a difficult case it must hand off.
For a smaller team seeking a quick entry price, Ada's sales process takes more work. Knowing your likely conversation volume and top support issues will help you decide whether that process fits your needs.
Ada vs. Chatbase pricing
| Vendor | Published pricing and fit |
|---|---|
| Ada | Pricing is by custom quote. Ada typically prices by conversation, with the included volume and any overage rate set in the agreement. Compare its quote with Chatbase’s for the same support volume, channels, and requirements. |
| Chatbase | Enterprise pricing is custom. Chatbase offers higher usage limits, flexible billing, SSO, audit logs, and SLAs at this level. Compare its quote with Ada’s for the same support volume and channels. |
An Ada conversation and a Chatbase message credit are different units. Give both vendors the same contact volume, channels, tasks, and handoff needs, then compare the full cost for those requirements.
For Chatbase, check how your plan and agent setup will use credits. If human takeover is central to your evaluation, review how the Chatbase helpdesk handles live handoff and tickets.
Other Ada alternatives to price
Chatbase is not the only option with a different billing model. These three are worth a look if they fit the support setup you already have:
- Fin works with an existing helpdesk or with Intercom's. Its published price starts at $0.99 per outcome, with a 50-outcome monthly minimum for the existing-helpdesk option. An outcome can include a completed procedure handoff, which matters when estimating your bill.
- Zendesk is a broader helpdesk purchase. Its plans charge by human agent seat, while AI usage and features depend on the package. Price the helpdesk and AI together if you are choosing both.
- eesel AI connects to existing support tools. Its published paid plan starts at $299 per month and counts a ticket or chat as one credit. The included monthly credits will determine what it costs at your volume.
These units are not interchangeable with Ada conversations. For more on product fit and tradeoffs, see our Ada alternatives comparison.
If you want to see what an AI agent and helpdesk would cost for your support volume, review Chatbase's plans or discuss an enterprise deployment.
Ada pricing FAQs
Does Ada publish pricing tiers?
Ada does not list standard tiers with prices and feature inclusions on its website. Its pricing page leads to a custom demo. The previously published AWS Marketplace offer showed the price of one specific package.
Can you pay Ada only for what you use?
Ada's public terms describe contracts with a set conversation quantity and charges above that quantity. They do not provide a public self-serve pay-as-you-go rate. Your quote should specify both the commitment and the overage rate.
Does Ada charge per human agent?
Ada does not publish a standard human-agent seat rate on its pricing page. Tell Ada how many people need platform access so the quote can account for them.
Does Ada offer a free trial or startup discount?
Ada's current pricing page does not list a public self-serve trial or standard startup discount. Trial and discount availability would need to be confirmed with Ada and recorded in the proposal.
